Store Closing Aug. 22
The Kanji Buttons store will be closing at the end of the day Wednesday, August 22. The reason for closing is that I am leaving soon for college/university and will not be bringing my button-making supplies with me. The blog will remain open, although updates may stop when school gets busy. The store should re-open near the end of December this year.

I was thinking I might draw the Chinese elements next. But, I was wondering if anyone had any other kanji they’d like to see. What would you like to see next from Kanji Buttons?
Kanji (Button) Compounds
星雲 seiun / nebula - cloud of dust & gases where stars are born
(星 stars + 雲 cloud)
夜空 yozora / night sky
(夜 night + 空 sky)
闇夜 an’ya (or yamiyo) / dark night
(闇 darkness + 夜 night)

Night Buttons Preview
I’ve been a bit slow to finish my set of 3 night-themed buttons, so I thought I might share some sketching/writing I did (in Sharpie and crayon). The three purple kanji in the middle are the ones I’ll be using for the Night Buttons set.
They are:
夜 yoru / night (already done here)
星 hoshi / star
闇 yami / darkness
For more daytime-y kanji, I have a Sky Buttons Set, which includes sky, clouds, and rainbow.
Night Button Photo
1” pinback buttons made from this design. The ink turned out a little darker than I expected, so the clouds are barely visible. But, I think they’re still a nice subtle effect.

Night
夜 yoru / night
I’ve already made these into buttons, but I guess I’ll post the photos tomorrow.
This one is the first of a set of three night-themed buttons, like the Sky Buttons Set. Until the night set is done, these can be ordered by choosing them in a Custom Set.
